Register for CUPE Safe Union Spaces Listening Sessions
On behalf of CUPE’s Safe Spaces Working Group, we would like to invite you to share your feedback on violence and harassment in our union. We will be hosting 2 listening sessions on January 19 and 29. Any CUPE member is welcome to join.
As a Working Group, we are working on addressing sexual violence and gender-based harassment as well as other forms of harassment and discrimination in our union spaces.
Over the last several months, the Working Group has been conducting research and developing recommendations to tackle violence and harassment in all its forms. Made up of the women members of the NEB, the Working Group is committed to making sure we develop and improve tools, policies and practices to end gender-based violence within CUPE.
You are all invited to take part in one of our Safe Union Spaces listening sessions, on January 19 or January 29. Register at: cupe.ca/listening
Simultaneous translation in English, French and ASL will be provided.
Please note that the listening sessions will involve discussion of sexual harassment and gender-based violence. The ombudsperson will be available during and after the sessions, and can be contacted at ombuds@cupe.ca
If you or someone you know is experiencing violence or harassment, or you need support for any reason, a list of resources can be found here: surveys.ggi.ca/cwpublic/Resources_English.pdf
