From CUPE Ontario: Bill 124 capped public sector workers’ wage increases at 1% at a time of skyrocketing inflation, forcing workers to turn to food banks, moonlight in second jobs, and rack up debt.
The legislation was struck down in 2022. Since then, the province has been busy picking winners and losers, giving some workers the wages that were stolen from them while ignoring others – including our fellow members and workers in social services.
The Worth Fighting For campaign is demanding:
- 6.5% retroactive catch-up increase applied to the grid
- Funding increases from the province to protect against job loss and cuts to services
Join us on September 4 for the Worth Fighting For campaign rally and march for workers in community and social services in partnership with the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU).
Details for the rally are as follows:
📆: September 4, 2025 from 12:00PM to 1:30PM
📍Hamilton City Hall, 71 Main St W, Hamilton, ON, L8P 4Y5
